Sheriff Clinton is pleased to
announce that Deputy Brandon
Hogsed has been presented with
the Top Gun award for 2007.  
Departmental firearms
qualifications are required by
law each year.  This year,
Deputy Hogsed shot 100% on his
firearms qualifications.  Sheriff
Clinton says this "demonstrates
a commitment to excellence on
behalf of the deputy."

A surprise shakedown on December 20, 2007, yielded security
issues for the Towns County Detention Center.  Among items
confiscated from inmate cells, were makeshift weapons and
prescription drugs.  The bar was cut away from a window in one
second story cell.  Sheriff Clinton shut down the cell until repairs
could be made.

delivered toys to
underprivileged children in
Towns County.  Sheriff Clinton

Motorcycle Club, among many
other organizations and private
citizens.
On December 29, 2007 Deputies Mark Marshall
and Brian Wilson conducted a traffic stop, which
resulted in the seizure of a quarter pound of
marijuana and the felony arrest of Adam Teich of
Hiawassee, Georgia.   Teich was charged with
Possession with intent to distribute marijuana,
and felony possession of Marijuana.
